Rental Terms & Conditions

Everything explained in plain & simple language — read these alongside our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Damage Policy.

A customer placing an order on the Climb Up Gears website or through an online order form agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions:

1. Rental contract

By renting a product the customer enters into a rental contract with Climb Up Gears, wherein Climb Up Gears transfers the rights to use the product to the customer on payment of the rent to Climb Up Gears, and thus the customer is the deemed owner of the usage rights of the goods. In no way does this contract signify that the good(s) belong to you on a permanent basis. The products have to be returned in the original condition in which they were delivered to you, immediately upon completion of the rental duration as agreed in your order.

2. Tenure of contract

The tenure of the contract is equivalent to the tenure chosen by the customer while placing the order. The return date is fixed and shown on the proforma invoice — the product/accessory has to be returned in as-is condition, by the return date, as was delivered to the customer by Climb Up Gears.

If you want to return the product earlier, before the end of your tenure, there will be no refund of the rental amount collected from you, whatsoever. If you want to extend the tenure, it can be done based on the availability of the product and at the discretion of Climb Up Gears.

Important: the maximum rental tenure is 90 days. If, by any means, including exploitation of platform vulnerabilities, an order is placed for a duration exceeding 90 days, it must be reported to Climb Up Gears immediately. Any misuse, manipulation, or unauthorized attempt to bypass this limit will be treated as a serious violation and may lead to legal action.

3. Payment policy

The total payment of each order includes the rental amount, refundable deposit (for some categories), Pay-on-Delivery handling charges, and delivery/pick-up charges if any.

If the customer opts for a damage protection plan, its charges will also be included in the final invoice amount. Payment can be made online at the time of placing the order, or upon delivery via a payment link.

4. Delivery policy

Your order will be delivered to your selected address within the date and time slot selected at checkout. In the event of unforeseen operational delays, our team will notify you promptly. If we fail to deliver your order within your chosen timeframe due to an operational issue, any specific delivery slot charges paid will be fully refunded to your original payment method.

Please note that delivery is done by a third-party courier partner, who will only deliver the order and not perform any other task.

Climb Up Gears conducts a thorough quality check before delivery. The customer is also expected to check for any damages or missing items and report the same within 2–3 hours of delivery so that an exchange may be arranged. Failure to do so may limit our ability to offer support or replacement.

Climb Up Gears does not guarantee that the same item will be available for exchange. Once delivery is complete, no refund requests will be entertained.

5. Return & pickup policy

All rented products must be returned to Climb Up Gears on the day immediately following the end of your rental tenure.

Pickup details:

  • Method: pickup will be arranged by Climb Up Gears or an assigned third-party courier
  • Location: the same address provided at the time of placing the order
  • Date: the day immediately after the rental period ends
  • Time slot: between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM

Customers are required to ensure the product is properly packed and ready for collection at the scheduled time to avoid delays or additional charges.

If the customer is unable to facilitate the return as scheduled, they must inform Climb Up Gears in advance. Failure to return the product may result in additional rental charges, penalties, or recovery actions as per these terms. The customer is responsible for the safekeeping and timely return of the rented product — and in the event of the customer's incapacity, unavailability, or death, that responsibility passes to the customer's legal heirs, representatives, or estate.

6. Damage policy

In case of any damage or missing product(s), Climb Up Gears will notify you upon receiving the product back. The customer agrees to pay for any damage to, loss of, or theft of the item. See our Damage Policy for the full breakdown of coverage, what's excluded, and how repair/replacement costs are calculated.

7. Security deposit refund policy

For certain products, we require a security deposit in addition to the rental charges and other applicable fees.

If the product quality check is complete without any reports of damage, the whole refundable deposit amount will be refunded to the customer without any interest, within 3 working days of the receipt of goods.

The refund is processed via a payout link sent by email/SMS/WhatsApp, where the customer enters their account details. Both NEFT and UPI transfer options are available.

8. Verification policy

All customers must complete a verification process as set by the company before their order is confirmed. See our Verification page for accepted documents and the full process. If verification is not completed or is not satisfactory, Climb Up Gears reserves the right to cancel the order — any payment made will be refunded within 3 working days.

9. Data policy

Upon order cancellation or request, personal data submitted during the verification process is securely deleted from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Zero deposit policy

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, we've eliminated the deposit requirement on select items — you can rent these without paying an upfront deposit.

This doesn't change your responsibility for the item. In the event of damage, loss, or theft on a zero-deposit rental, repairable damage is charged at actual repair cost plus a nominal ₹250 to cover logistics. A separate invoice is issued for any such charges, so the amount and reason are always clear.

11. Extension policy

If the customer is unable to return the product(s) by the agreed return date and time, they're liable to pay rent and extend the return date. There are no penal charges — just the rent for the additional days. Extension rates are determined by dividing the total rental fee by the duration of the rental. Dynamic surge pricing may apply depending on market demand and availability.

12. Cancellation & refund policy

Your cancellation and refund terms depend on the payment option selected at checkout.

A) Pay on Delivery (flexible option)

  • Before your delivery timeslot starts — free cancellation. Cancel before your designated delivery timeslot begins and no fees are charged; any advance paid is fully refunded to your original payment method.
  • After your delivery timeslot starts — a 10% cancellation fee applies.

B) Lock-In Price / Pay Now (upfront option)

If you lock in our lowest rate with the "Pay Now" upfront option, your order is partially refundable. Because these items are reserved exclusively for you and removed from our active rental inventory, a 10% cancellation fee applies if you cancel at any time after confirmation.

13. Governing law, jurisdiction & dispute resolution

These terms and the use of the website are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

If a dispute arises between a customer and Climb Up Gears about the validity, interpretation, termination, implementation, or alleged breach of these terms ("Dispute"), both parties will first attempt to settle it amicably, in good faith, within 14 days.

Failing an amicable settlement, the Dispute will be resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, administered by Presolv360, in accordance with its Dispute Resolution Rules, before a sole arbitrator. The juridical seat of arbitration is Bengaluru, India; the language of arbitration is English; and the governing law is Indian law. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding, and the competent courts at the seat have exclusive jurisdiction over the arbitration.

Arbitration proceedings are conducted virtually through Presolv360's online dispute resolution platform wherever possible, using the email address and/or mobile number on file — each party is responsible for keeping these current with the institution throughout the proceedings. Where virtual proceedings aren't practical, the arbitrator will determine a physical venue having regard to the circumstances of the case.

Subject to the above, the courts of Bengaluru, India have sole and exclusive jurisdiction over any matter arising from the use of Climb Up Gears' services.
